Seekers - Cabin Fever

Starscream considered himself a level minded mech.
He was a scientist after all, or had been a scientist before the war.
Now that he was a warrior he thanked Primus that his level mindedness helped him through usually irritating situations.

He glanced to his Trinemate, Skywarp, wondering how much longer his fellow Seeker was going to take to do whatever it was he was doing, and hoe much more of his level mindedness he was going to test.

'Must you do that?!' Starscream asked sourly. 'You've been prancing about like a fool for cycles!!'

'Can't help it if I can sing and you can't!' Skywarp replied, readjusting his costume.

'And must you wear that ridiculous ... what is that you're wearing anyway?!' Starscream sat up and paced about Skywarp. 'Is it some sort of uniform? I think I've seen it before somewhere …'

Skywarp laughed, 'like it?' He twirled, allowing the large pink and fuchsia bow at his back to float behind him, 'I spent Primus knows how long working on it. You wouldn't believe how long it took Soundwave to weave all the metal filaments to get this light consis—'

''Warp! Quick!' Thundercracker rushed into their shared quarters, sporting a similar outfit to Skywarp's but with a large blue bow instead of fuchsia, topped by an even larger crimson bow that, by all rights, should have had him toppling backwards every astrosecond, 'give me a hand with my wig!' He asked hurriedly, 'we're on soon!'

'We are?!' Skywarp rushed about, looking for something, 'help me find my wig!'

'Hold it!!' Starscream shouted angrily, 'what in the frag is going on here?!'

'I'm looking for my wig!' Skywarp kept searching about the room, 'it's a long stranded one, blonde colour.'

'I need help with mine!' Thundercracker cried, 'I can't keep my neko ears on!'

'Your what?' Starscream asked in disbelief, disturbed at seeing his usually ferocious Trinemate complaining like a spoilt sparkling.

'Got it!!' Skywarp emerged from his locker and threw something over his helm, adjusting the long bangs and pulling it tightly so it clasped his helm securely. 'There!'

'Help me with mine!' Thundercracker held out his much shorter wig.

Skywarp rushed to him and slammed the wig onto Thundercracker's helm, enjoying the brief yelp before the clasps held it in place.

'Don't forget the neko ears!' Thundercracker reminded him.

'Here, let me see.' Skywarp held his hand out and received the pointed feline ears from his Trinemate, 'Hold still. No wonder they're not sticking, you didn't magnetise them enough. I'll fix them for you.'

'Thanks. Ow!' Thundercracker winced, 'I was working on the enhancements to my chest casing. How does it look?'

'Divine!' Skywarp spoke adoringly.

'Stupid!' Starscream sneered, 'will either of you tell me what it the frag is going on or I swear-'

'You don't know?!' Both Thundercracker and Skywarp asked at the same time.

Starscream shook his helm.

'We're ... Nekomimi!' Skywarp and Thundercracker struck a pose, looking positively stars truck, as if greeting a stadium full of admirers.

Starscream thought they were the most ridiculous things he'd ever seen.
He couldn't exactly recall where he'd seen these similar outfits but he found the entire situation very odd, becoming even more disturbing as both fellow Seekers began to sing in tandem.

Starscream couldn't believe his audios, they were actually ... good.
So good in fact he found himself taking seat and listening, watching as both Skywarp and Thundercracker began a sequence of energetic and lively movements.

'Thank you!' Skywarp bowed coyly. 'Thanks everyone!'

'Thanks everyone!' Thundercracker waved to an invisible crowd, 'we love you all!'

'That was good!' Starscream rose and clapped. 'I didn't know-'

'Your turn!' Skywarp laughed.

'Eh?' Starscream began to back away, sensing something was wrong, 'I-I don't-'

'He said it was your turn!' Thundercracker reached out and seized him, shaking him violently, 'we won't take no for an answer!'

'No! Let me go!' Starscream cried.

He landed awkwardly, the pain radiating through him forcing him out of his recharge cycle.

'What the ...?' Starscream sat up quickly, ignoring the pain, his mind still in a half daze as he struggled to reassure himself. 'A dream ...' he murmured, shaking his helm, and looking up to his berth, 'all a dream ...'

'You right?' Thundercracker asked, looking over the edge of his berth adjacent to Starscream's, 'what're you doing on the floor?'

'None of your business!' Starscream snapped, rising to his feet, taking in the calm of his shared quarters cycling a deep sigh of relief that it had all been a -

'Look!' Skywarp rushed in, carrying with him a human publication he'd grown fond of.

Starscream was horrified to see on its cover two femmes sporting the same outfits he'd seen his Trinemates wearing in his dream.

'Since we haven't got much to do now that we've been kept underwater through Earth's winter I thought we'd stage a musical!'

'Go on.' Thundercracker looked, much to Starscream's horror, interested.

'We'll make these outfits!' Skywarp indicated the femmes on the cover, 'One for me, one for you, 'Cracker, and one for Starscream!'

'What?!' Starscream asked.

'I'm in!' Thundercracker agreed, 'what about you, Starscream?' He turned to Starscream.

Starscream said nothing.

'You get to be ... Nekomimi C!' Skywarp tried to entice him.

Starscream's reaction was to stride up to Skywarp, take the publication from Skywarp's hands and tear it into pieces before exiting the room.

I've had enough if this ridiculous situation! He seethed mentally, heading to the command post and to Megatron.
While Megatron might enjoy going underground for however long it pleased him, in order to annoy the Autobots, it was making his Seekers act like idiots! This had to stop!

'Where is Megatron?!' Starscream asked as he walked into the command post.

Soundwave said nothing, merely nodded towards a door to his right.

'Right!' the Seeker stomped past Soundwave, ignoring the communications officer's sudden warning as he proceeded through the doors.

'Megatron!' Starscream began, 'I ...' he fell silent, his central processors struggling to comprehend what he was seeing.

'Ah, Starscream.' Megatron greeted him with no trace of his usual anger, 'I was about to send for you. Here,' he held out a blonde wig and neko ears, 'give me a hand with these!' He ordered. 'After that I want you to change into your costume and join me on stage.'

Starscream screamed and retreated, suddenly losing his footing and dropping backwards.
He landed awkwardly, the pain radiating from his faceplate disturbing his recharge cycle.

'I-I'm awake!' Starscream gasped, 'Thank Primus! Thank Primus!'

He sat up, rubbing his sore features and still terrified of his nightmare, looking about to reassure himself he was awake.
Thundercracker and Skywarp rested on their berths, undisturbed in their recharge cycles; their shared quarters were in near darkness except for the radiated light emitted by the energon dispenser. Only the barest hint of the base's generators humming away disturbed the otherwise peaceful quiet of the atmosphere around him.

He frowned, spotting the ridiculous Nekomimi posters plastered all over Skywarp's berth.
It was bad enough the Seeker was fond of the femmes, much worse that he had started a small fan club amongst his subordinates, but Skywarp's holding sing alongs for the third straight solar cycle was more than Starscream could tolerate.

'I'll talk to Megatron tomorrow.' Starscream murmured as he climbed back atop his berth, 'this "winter lockdown" is not good for my Seekers, or for my processors.'
